Join us as we show you what has been known as one of the engineering wonders of the world; Hoover Dam. When completed in 1935, it was both the world’s largest electric power producing facility and the world’s largest concrete structure. Upon arrival at the Hoover Dam, you will be driven across the Dam to the fabulous Arizona lookout on the other side to enjoy a spectacular view of the entire Hoover Dam complex.
Enjoy a spectacular view of the Mike O’Callahan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge opened in 2010 and stretching nearly 2,000 feet (610 m) in length. The bridge was the first concrete-steel composite arch bridge built in the United States and it incorporates the widest concrete arch in the Western Hemisphere. At 840 feet (260 m) above the Colorado River, it is the second-highest bridge in the United States after the Royal Gorge Bridge near Cañon City, Colorado. You will have the opportunity to experience walking of the Memorial Bridge.
Ample time is provided for souvenir shopping and purchase of food items at the Dam restaurant. This is truly an exciting and very educational experience that will provide you with a thorough overview of this fascinating, 80-year-old, civil engineering wonder of the world.
